In the penultimate installment of my fantasy short story, Peter Semple’s daughters Maisie and Wrenna, and Wrenna’s colleague Algeberta, attend the dinner that he’s hosting for Tacy Bronwell.

Afterward the sisters take a walk, while Peter escorts Tacy – who’s the worse for wine – home. Ms. E-B cleans up the kitchen and goes upstairs. Algeberta assumes her true identity as Lady Allith and follows the housekeeper. Hearing the sound of typing coming from the aerie, the noblewoman draws her sword and pursues her nemesis.
